I was setting up my new Mac Pro and all was going well until I installed Cisco's VPN client software that I use for work (universal binary - 4.7.00 (0510)). Following that, all shutdowns and restarts resulted in a kernel panic. I did not know at first what the cause was as I had installed a number of items in a row but I am pretty sure now that it was the Cisco software because I tried to run the Cisco uninstaller script but this led to a kernel panic as well. It took an archive and install of the OS to get the problem fixed and the Mac working properly again. It took quite a while to recover from this problem so I am somewhat hessitant to confirm with another test install of the Cisco client software. Has anybody else installed the Cisco vpn client software without causing any harm or vice versa?
